Happy Meals: Burj Al Arab guests may soon be able to order McDonald's

McDonald's could soon be available on order in the luxury Dubai hotel

Jumeirah’s iconic, sail-shaped hotel, which opened in December 1999, is scheduled to undergo renovation in the summer of 2019.

Guests staying at the luxurious Burj Al Arab could soon be able to order a wide range of food options to their rooms, including fast food operator McDonald’s, according to the CEO of operator Jumeirah Group.

“The future is about liberating choice for guests, and they should be able to order, in a proper way. Their room is their residence and they should be able to access everything from their room, whether it is a fine dining menu or whether it is McDonald’s,” CEO Jose Silva was quoted as saying in an interview with Arab News.

“Obviously it has to be controlled, hygienic and secure, but the future is about allowing more choice and allowing the consumer to personalise and customise,” he added.

Jumeirah’s iconic, sail-shaped hotel, which opened in December 1999, is scheduled to undergo renovation in the summer of 2019.

“We will also renovate [Burj Al Arab], probably in summer 2019," he told Arabian Business last year.
